Let us never negotiate out of fear, but let us never fear to negotiate.

Preface
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations functions. In an MUN conference, participating delegates represent nations as part of UN multilateral bodies. Delegates engage in debates concerning international affairs faced by the global community to reach a joint resolution.
Today more than 400 Model UN conferences are held annually worldwide. More than 1,000,000 people have participated in MUN conferences around the world since the conferences became popular over 50 years ago.
As a large developing country filled with diverse and potential young minds, Indonesia still lacks a nation-wide MUN conference. This is why the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Indonesia will hold: Indonesia Model United Nations (IMUN) is the premier varsity level Model United Nations conference in Indonesia. Being the first ever nation-wide Model UN to be held in Indonesia, IMUN will bring together 165 talented university students from renowned universities all over the country. They will act as delegates representing more than 100 different countries in three United Nations councils.
IMUN connects the Indonesian youth to the UN, educates them in global issues and the process of multilateral diplomacy. Participants will be given opportunities to further develop their competences in diplomacy, debate and networking through interactions with high-profile speakers and fellow delegates. For the Indonesian nation itself, IMUN offers a chance in formulating solutions for the global issues the world faces now and in
the future.
